Um, with a little bit of thought, it's pretty clear that LR is great, but PS is needed for heavy lifting. In addition, as stated above, it's used for much, much more than the petty tasks of a photographer. There are plenty of digital artists out there that truly exercise the power of PS. Your realization of disuse is hardly indicative of a trend. When I get back to my desktop I will add a link here to an amazing edit that couldn't be done in LR.
Hell, most of what I do can't solely be done in LR.
