Old school photographer new to digital era and hooked (at last)

Good day from sunny South Africa. I am new here and quite intriqued.
Started photography in 1980 with a Ricoh XR2S film camera and favoured slides. No re-takes, no photoshop, sweating for days waiting for the then either WOW or OH NO!
Shot some pretty special ones in my lifetime! Love the mountains (Drakensberg mountains) where the air is crisp and the light is amazing and the horizon endless.
I love narrow depth of field work and given the limited technology, produced some amazing shots.
Wish I can capture those slides, 1000's of them, into digital format!
Now about to enter the DSLR world and cannot wait for my Nikon to arrive (actually waiting for the money to arrive LOL).

well, hope to learn a lot from you high-tech folks here!

Peace & Blessings

Pieter

Welcome!   Hope to see some of the scanned images (yes, some of my old slide images have a very special place in my heart, in part because I know there are all "OOC.")     Hope the Nikon $$ come soon!
