Are photographers really doing this?

I just got home and there was another photographers business card stuck in front door.  Is this what marketing has turned into for some photographers?  I can't image this is a very good return on investment.  If I'm wrong, I'd love to know.

How I see it, you have the cost of the business cards, which can't be that much.  Then someone going around and sticking these in doors.

Like those advertisement's people out under your windshield wiper in the super market parking lot. They really annoy me. I don't care to see them and have to get rid of someone else's trash!

I see it as a sign of desperation. Might as well stand on a busy street corner with a sign, "Will photograph for food".....

Why so serious?

Delusional thinking at it's best.  Some people thing that works, perhaps it does for a very small group, but I like you all, toss those out.

I've seen photographers doing a lot stranger things than this.

Well at least I know I'm not the only one who is stunned by this.

I've gotten them on my car, but not on my door at my home.  This does annoy me and frankly I can't see this working at all.
