What is the best drone for just starting out?

Can you recommend a drone for starting out?  Something that has a good camera and easy to fly (if one exists).  Video would be great and external batteries so I can get extras.

Thank you

What's your budget?

With out knowing your budget, I would say a good starting point is to look at the Mavic Mini or Mavic Air 2 from DJI.   They are the largest.

I got to say the Mavic Air 2 will not disappoint. I had some other beginner drones but they are a waste of time and money. This is the easiest drone to fly and is worth the extra money. Get the fly more combo and you are set!

I will recommend you the most popular consumer photography drones.
They are the DJI Phantom 4, DJI Mavic. Both of them have great features
and are relatively low in cost.

Mainly up to your budget, as if you have a low budget the DJI Mini would be a good beginner. I had a little bigger budget and got a DJI Mavic Air 2 both are easy to fly for beginners as I am one as well.

Just if you go with DJI get the Fly More kit its a little more but you get extra batties, Also being new get the DJI replacement Insurance.

So after so many years of doing this or that and life itself getting in my way, I am now at the point where just slowing down and doing things I have put off I have concluded that its time to become creative and do what I want.
Thanks for giving me a place to get started. :-)

My first drone was DJI SE. I chose that model because I needed to learn how to use it for the fiest times, and lightweight drone is a good decision for this purpose. Glad to have it , but recommend to have a new one after this little buddy

Overall, the best drone for beginners available today is the DJI Mini 2 or (ignoring budgetary concerns) the Mini 3 Pro. That's because they're light, compact, and easy to fly.

All good recommendations, I would go with the Air 2s because of the camera specs, size of drone and battery range.  Plus being a little on the market now, you might find a good deal used.
