Took this photo earlier this evening. It's of one of the new windmills being built right on the edge of my town. This thing is HUGE! The blades are 80m in length. To get an idea of the scale have a look at the trees at the bottom. Those are fully grown trees and this thing dwarfs them. I call it Monstrum (a reference to Obelix).

First time I saw one of these in person was such a jaw dropping experience.  Almost the same you would have when visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time.  It's hard to believe the size.  Cool shot.

Yup, each blade is 80m long. Working diameter is a approximately 165m (including the centre hub)
