Removing scratch from a polarized filter?

Can this be done?  Or will it effect the finished photo?

How bad a scratch is it? I have a lens with a small chip in it that does very well for me. You'd be surprised what junk can be on the lens and it still works well. Of course if I was doing photography for a living I probably wouldn't want a scratch on the lens. Then I'd probably sell it and buy a new one.

Shoot, take it outside and shoot something with it them look at the photo on your computer. I noticed shooting through chicken wire, I get close enough and the wire disappears.

Which filter is it? If it's a cheapo, just toss it.  If its a pricey filter, take a photo and then zoom in on your computer to see if you can see any effect of the scratch.

Canon 5d Mark II • Canon 24-105mm F/4.0 • Canon 135mm F/2.0 • Canon 50mm F/1.8 • Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 • Canon 580ex ii

Is it a poly, or a glass filter? Does the scratch have whiting in the scratch if it is glass? It will not affect the image at all unless light strikes the actual scratch at the right angle. If you are worried about it then take an ultra fine point magic marker, and blacken the scratch with it, and viola it is fixed.

I had someone else look at it and was told it would be cheaper to get new one. Thanks any way everyone.
