So, yeah, the Nikon users are kinda stuck with what they get, right?

I edited my post above.

After reading a bit about Adobe's initial efforts at D810 support, it's possible that maybe LR doesn't work quite right with the A77?  Just a thought...

Maybe, I remember the fuji cameras had a lot of trouble with Adobe Camera raw for a while.
