Solar Eclipse Pano

4 weeks 2 days ago #762652 by Sonder
Well, herein Northeast Ohio we will bare witness to a total eclipse.  I have purchased a Tiffen 40.5mm ND 16 stop
(65,536 x filter) for my little but mighty TG-6.  I hate to use the word assume, but I don’t know what else to use ..lol..
In catching different phases of the eclipse from left to right “hopefully its not 100%
clouds”.  How do you fine folks show that as a pano? I am I to assume you crop out several photos and place them side by side?

Any help you fine folks can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Is 16 stops enough?  I thought it had to be darker?

This was at lunch I think it will work.  I gotta figure out a few settings.  This is also not zoomed at all.  It is going to have limitations because I was not willing to spend over a certain amount of money for the filter and thats my fault.

Im gonna mess with the orf file and see what I can do with the glare and other anomalies.

Well I think I have a good understanding of how to do this. It may not be the best way to do it, but its def a way to complete the task

Well with the high cirrus clouds that was acting as a natural filter I possibly could of gotten away with a lighter filter.  The filter was a 16 f-stop.

I don't know enough of the finer points of these lense filters.  So, I'm not really happy yet and don't know if I will be as i continue to look through the photos.

Needless to say because I did not change from the 16 f stop filter to my grey polarizer durning the totality my photos did not come out.

Beaten but not broken,
