LMAO sorry sassyii. Going to Jupiter Florida next week to shoot a sunrise on a gorgeous beach. Ill make sure its the real deal. Im curious, other then the champagne not being real, what is your thought on the sun behind the glass instead of off to the side. Should I spread out the visual information, is it to cluttered in one spot?

I might have liked it more with the single glass with the sun behind it. Maybe even lighten the sky some? I also like it the way it is. (In my younger days it would have been better for me using Vodka instead of ginger ale or champagne as well).....:whistle:

I like the sun behind the glass - keeps your eye on the subject the "Champagne". With no title or words, I would have assumed this was sunset rather than sunrise...just because the story to me, is a nice glass after a beautiful day - kinda the cherry on top.

The story you tell with a photo, may not be the actual story, it's just what is implied in the photo and we all read them differently.

The only thing I might have done a bit different, is give the bottom of the glass just a tiny bit more space and maybe push the exposure up a tiny bit.

I'm on the fence between having 1 or 2 glasses.  Either way, it's a nice shot. I can see an alternative of this shot showing a couple somewhat blurred out in the background running towards the waves.

Hi Andrew. My reason for the 2 glasses was that, I was enjoying the sunrise with that special person. The single glass is for yourself of course and a more horizon visual. The single glass suggestion came up more then once.  My objective before the shot was to get the sun behind one of the glasses to get a prism affect from the sun through the glass. I didn't want to make the 2 glasses the only focus. We have such great sunrises down here in Florida I wanted to fill my shot with both glass and horizon. I was a little late on this shot by 10 minutes, because the sky was a brilliant orange.

Thanks for your view. Makes me think, reevaluate, ponder, and hopefully become a better photographer

The fact that the glasses are there  makes them important. You can't get around that.

As for two, I'd put the setting sun between them. There's clearly lots of refraction going on, but I'm not seeing much difference, above, between the light coming through either of them. You may be overthinking it. As for the sunset, it becomes a backdrop; but it won't overshadow the champagne flutes.

OP - beautiful shot, reminds me of a trip my hubby and I took to Jamaica a few years ago.
