Same with me, in NYC you have so much culture and interesting things to photograph.  When I come during the holidays, I always fly into NYC.  Sometimes my layovers are long enough for me to spend a little time outside of the airport.  Last year I spent the night in the city after I planned an over night layover.  It was fun, I got photos of your subways and the street photography is so rich there.
