New Nikon D810 info leaked before official launch

9 years 10 months ago #384436 by Sergiu
Well, it seems thatonce again the rumors department have outdone themselves.
Most of what hasbeen said about the D800/800e replacement is true.
SO far it doesn'tlook like there is any big deal to it. My biggest disappointment is no 4k
video, but I think it's best if everyone shares their own views about the
specs. By the way, the British website that leaked this info, Expertreviews,
quickly removed it. Here are the specs:

·  price around $4,580
·  sensor: 36.3MP
·  LCD screen: 3.2" (1,299Kdots) with new split-screen mode
·  card slots: CF + SDXC
·  Expeed 4 image processing engine
·  no optical low pass filter (no surprise)
 ·  ISO 32-51200 in extended mode, ISO 64-12800in regular mode
·  shutter speed range: 1/8000-30s
·  improved auto-focus(including Group Area AF mode for the D4s)
·  no 4k video
·  video recording: added 50/60p
·  redesigned shutter with new Kevlar/carbonfibre-composite unit; reduced shutter lag; quieter operation
·  the metering mode buttonis moved to the main control dial
·  improved grip

Hopefully the d800e price drops so i can switch up cheaper.

I love it when the rumor mill is putting things out before a supposed launch. Or should we call this the start of the rumor lunch.

I don't underestand what, in that feature list, could justify a price increase of $1200.

Seems OK. Little bit better, not a lot.

It won't be 1200 more.  They said it'll be cheaper in the states.

OK, found this on FB:

Try $3200, the current prices of the D800E. Much more as expected.

Wow. Bundle in less than $1000 worth of lenses and raise the price by $1700?  What the...?

Yeah that is why I never buy bundles. Also I guess it is not a rumor. They really kept this one quiet, or I have been too busy to notice the prior rumors. And I think that the people hoping for a D400 are SOL.

Why are you only considering the lenses?

Atmos Ninja 2 video recorder ($695.00)
85 1.8 $496.95
35 1.8G ED $596.95 (I think you thought this is the 35 1.8G DX lens)
50 1.8 $216.95

That's $2005.85 worth there already.  In fact the lenses alone are  $1310.85

Then there's the ME-1 mic (another $129.95)
Then extra batteries and cables etc.

Seems like a good deal for the VIDEO maker (as the name of the bundle suggests). :kmonst:

Yeah, my bad. Yes, I got the wrong lens stuck in my head, and the first listing I saw didn't make the video recorder add-on clear to me. I keep forgetting about that new 35mm lens.

Yes, clearly apropos for videography. Mea culpa.
