Do you partner with other photographers?

For those of you who make a living with their cameras.  Will you ever partner with other photographers as a way to get jobs they can't handle or have time for.  Or better yet, where 2nd photographer would be needed?   If so, how did you approach other photographers for this?

Absolutely, yes.

You must get involved in a meet-up or professional group (a local PPA branch, perhaps) to meet other photographers. Find someone you like, can get along with, and have compatible styles (or a willingness to learn). Be bold and make yourself available.

It's essentially marketing yourself to other photographers. You'll need some work to exemplify what you can do, too, I think.

My $0.02.

Nearly all my work is done with another photographer. The lone wolf mentality some photographers have baffles me.

I have not yet but would certainly consider doing so.  My current project, photographing a construction project, calls for coverage of the dedication ceremony and I am thinking that would be something I could farm out.

Solo only gets you so far.  Why do companies with multiple heads get farther than one man shows?  More minds in the game.  I always recommend partnering when the deal looks good and you both share the same business ethics and outlook.

Heheh... photographers don't play nice in my area... I'm sick of snobs and those people you start building relationships with who eventually fall off the face of the earth once they find someone more useful to partner with.  Seriously, that has happened to me.  One day we're best buds, then suddenly I don't exist anymore and they're off canoodling with a different photographer

(For lack of sounding like a needyphotogirlfriend or something)

Seriously though, maybe it's just my area but people here are jerks, and photographers only get along with me when I am useful in some way.  As soon as they've stolen all my personal creative ideas or realized that I progress at my own damn rate and am not in it for the money, they dump me. And they make sure they steal what little equipment I have first.  Wah. (Okay only one of them has stolen equipment from me)

my two cents worth is that the more you work with others the more chances you have to learn. The main problem I have is that most have such a big head they don't want to share. It is too bad that there isn't somewhere people can post where they can find each other.....
