$18,000 worth of photography gear destroyed!

Talk about a crappy day!  This photographer who was covering a Croatia high school event where you see one student tossing a girl into a water fountain.  Then two guys come in and push the photographer gear in all, in the the water fountain!

The folks with PetaPixel nailed this one "Reason number 14,526 why you should insure your gear ".   Apparently the photographer had the following gear on him, that took the bath with him: Nikon D3 and D4, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8, Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8 ,an Apple 64GB iPad Retina and iPhone5s!

Funny enough, if he had a 1Dx his equipment would have been fine (just kidding).

I wonder if his gear is totally ruined. The D3/4 series of cameras has pretty good sealing... I mean usually you don't dip them into water, but people have washed them with a hose and they weren't destroyed.

Still, stupid move on those kids behalf and I'm glad they had to pay to replace the gear. If my gear got destroyed in a similar way I'd have the police there asap and seek legal advice on who to sue.
