So is that airplane actually flying when all this is taking place?  Sorry if dumb question, but I thought in order for zero gravity you need to be in orbit.  Which would require something like the space shuttle, not a commercial airline?

The plane is a steep dive (google the "vomit rocket") It's a free fall, but within a confined space with no wind buffeting you about, so it comes off as zero-G.

The weightless scene in "Apollo 13" was filmed in the VR, I believe. What a great film that was.

This brings back some memories.  I went to college as a commercial airline pilot and we used to do this in smaller single and multi engine 4-8 passenger planes.
