Non-professional photographers who carry their camera at all the times?

Well I wouldn't say it's always on my hip, but I do carry it almost everywhere I go.

I carry my camera with me when I am going on a trip or am going for a drive or a walk somewhere, I won't take it on my way to work or on my day to day business that is not very interesting and presents no opportunities for me.

You kidding me?  Mine's under my pillow with me at night.

I am an unprofessional photographer who carries his camera all the time. I have missed far too many shots over many years to not carry it. For example the very last time I left the camera in my work truck on a job site, I was on the way to the porta-john, and about 30 feet from me was a bobcat watching me. He did not bolt off, and was just watching me heading in that direction. So this is why I always carry a camera with me, when I am out and about.

I think are wife's are talking, because they are saying the same thing. 

When I first got started my camera was with me 100% of the time, I woulds say that is about nearly the same now.  Perhaps 10% margin of when it's not with me.

I'm just about the same, it's nice to have a point and shoot camera too

Why is there a need to carry a camera all the time? Go live your life. I usually bring a camera along if I'm going out and about where I expect I may want to take pictures. I don't usually bring it along going out to dinner, shopping, etc. Realistically it's not going to be possible or reasonable to photograph every cool thing you see every day, and what would you possibly do with so many pictures anyway? It seems lately like life is passing a lot of people by while they're trying to take pictures of it.

Never leaves my side, which is another reason I'm excited about moving to mirrorless.  Smaller!

Rarely carry my camera, if I did I would have to leave it in the car on many occasions and I am not prepared to do that, I am of course always slapping my forehead when I see that wonderful missed opportunity.
