Long story. I started to type, but it would take time. Shorter version:

Scene: Funeral of activists during apartheid, South Africa.
The end result was me and a reporter was chased by a few thousand people for about 500m across rough terrain to our car. I still had to carry my Nikon FM with motor drive and a 600mm Noviflex lens. (not easy when running for your life)
We had to get through a fence and get into our locked car standing on the national road.
As we pulled away the stones started raining where the car stood. Not one hit us, but lots of near misses.

If we stumbled that day, we would have been 'necklaced'. (A car tyre around you so you can not move your arms and then set alight.)

My fiance that day decided she needs a safer job for her husband-to-be.
I was too blinded by the adrenaline at the time.
