While creating your site it is important to consider who your customer is so you can be sure the content of your site is developed with them in mind. Relevant page content will also help with your SEO ranking, which in turn plays a big part in your web presence.

Success Tip #1: Having a Website... What is Myth and what is Fact.

And it doesn't happen overnight, it takes persistence and determination to succeed. Social media can give a big boost in online your presence. It is our opinion that it is important to create accounts with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. and place these social media icon links on your website. And we have talked about blogs in another topic, but feel it is important enough to mention again, as a significant piece of the puzzle. Also monthly newsletters can help bring traffic to your website and blog. There are many great email marketing companies that you can sign up with to help with newsletter management.

Another great tool is to sign up for a Google Analytics account and link it to your website. If you aren't familiar with this, it is very useful for viewing the traffic on your site, where it comes from, how long viewers are on your site, which pages viewers spend the most time on, and more.

One last question we are going to discuss today is… Should I worry if my site is mobile friendly? And the answer is, yes you should. Now, if your site is using HTML5 you are in, as it has built-in ‘Responsive Web Design.’ RWD adapts automatically to all devices (from all the phones, tablets and monitors.) Some companies forget that there are a lot of different monitors in use. For example, I use a widescreen monitor and my co-workers are all over the board, so in he past we would have to walk around the office to make sure the site looked good on all the displays, but no more. With RWD your site will look the same and you will avoid the scroll bars and still be able to read the text. On cell phones it will stack your links and images on your home page for easy navigation.

HTML5 and RWD makes your life so much easier, no more having to maintain a mobile site and telling people on your web site that it looks better if you use “xxx” browser, so please down load or use this browser. I’m very excited about this new technology so I built templates that can harness this power within the morephotos.com sites for our professional photographers, and they are loving it. Here’s a fact to keep in mind that in 2012 customers spent $25 billion on products using phones and tablets, an increase of 81%. These figures are amazing and a testament as to why having a mobile friendly site is so important in this day and age.
