If you ask me, half the battle of becoming a better photographer is to find inspiration for your work.
Fortunately, we live in an era in which taking and sharing photos has never been easier, so there's an unbelievable collection of photos out there that can get your creative juices flowing.
If you've been visiting PhotographyTalk for any amount of time, you likely know that we have an Inspirational Photo of the Day selected from the images our members upload to our galleries. That's a great place to start for some photography motivation!
And obviously the heavy hitters like Flickr, 500px, and Instagram are loaded with incredible talent as well.
In this article, I'd like to focus on a few amazing photographers to follow on Instagram.
egg + head This is my buddy @richfsantiago (the head). Sadly this only took us two years to produce. Just two dudes that live in the same city, but seldom in the same city at the same time. Anyway, despite the suggestion of what might leak out of his melon, truth is, his head is full of organic free range magic, not yolk. And if your eyes enjoy the feeling of satisfaction, you might want to swing by his feed. Take your thumb, yes that thumb and tap to it. #combophoto
Perhaps one of the funnest feeds you'll find on Instagram, Stephen McMennamy's work focuses on combining two photos together into one crazy creation.
Not only do these "combo photos" demonstrate an incredible level of creativity and whimsy, but they also show an attention to detail in post-processing that will impress even the most seasoned of photographers.
And while his photos likely require an incredible amount of time to pull off, there's a lightheartedness to them that reminds us why photography is so much fun in the first place.

A Los Angeles-based commercial and travel photographer, Ravi Vora spends much of his time on the road with his camera. And boy, do we get to benefit from it.
From Abu Dhabi to New Mexico, Thailand to the Mediterranean, Ravi's photos show landscapes, people, and life in every corner of the world.
Scrolling through his feed, you'll find dynamic images with saturated colors and bold light, yet his photos have a softness to them at the same time. That's why he's a top pick of photographers to follow on Instagram.
“Listening to the Ground” “Take a walk at night, and walk so silently that the bottoms of your feet become ears.” ~ Pauline Oliveros Today (July 18th) is celebrated as the World Listening Day. As a clinician whose work involves thoughtful listening to get a deeper understanding of clients’ lives, this is a day that should be celebrated every day. However, listening is a skill that I still need to work on outside my professional domain. This year’s theme is “Listening to the Ground.” It honors the life of Pauline Oliveros, a composer who spent her life in the advancement of electronic music and promoting the art of deep listening. In her words, “Sometimes we walk on the ground, sometimes on sidewalks or asphalt, or other surfaces. Can we find ground to walk on and can we listen for the sound or sounds of ground? Are we losing ground? Can we find new ground by listening for it?.” This is probably the perfect day to hear the world around us. #WLD2017 #Global_hotshotz #majestic_earth_ #cool_capture_ #photoarena_nature #naturewhisperers #inspiring_photography_admired #dream_image #jaw_dropping_shots #gottolove_this #splendid_earth #thebest_capture #b_picturess #igs_america #greatshotz #special_shots #magicpict #phototag_it #nature_sultans #igpodium #ig_exquisite #ig_impulse #viewbugfeature #artofvisuals #nikonlove #superhubs #princely_shotz #neverstopexploring #moodygrams #patagonia

Her images show a knack for finding interesting perspectives from which to portray the landscape. The result are photos that have an otherworldliness to them.
What's more, Sangeeta often plays with framing, with many of her photos showing the value of getting in close and taking a more intimate landscape photo.

Being born and raised in Zimbabwe, it's no surprise that Ross Couper's specialty is photographing African wildlife.
His portraits of wild animals feel like portraits of an old friend...
His images have so much richness, detail, and personality that it almost feels like the animal was in on the portrait, posing for the camera with perfect timing to result in a breathtaking shot.
Based in Munich, Germany, Jannik Obenhoff is a landscape photography master - and he's just 17 years old.
His feed is a breathtaking visual journey of Germany's mountains, lakes, forests, and rivers that would serve well as an advertisement for his country's tourism ministry.
He's taken his skills on the road, too, recently traveling to Iceland and Abu Dhabi to bring his creative eye to landscapes far different from those he finds in Germany.
If you're looking for who to follow on Instagram, Jannik should be at the top of your list!
An up-and-comer on Instagram, Aris Jerome is a visual artist that combines photography with other creative tools like painting to create a unique collection of posts on his Instagram feed.
There's a vintage aesthetic to his portraits, which feature bold colors, interesting perspectives, and dynamic lighting that delights the eye.
He's not afraid to get in close, either, and create whimsical portraits like the one above.

LA is a Dubai-based visual artist that has a breathtaking collection of images that has a youth and vibrancy to it.
His complex photo manipulations stand side-by-side with clean, simple portraits, and though the subject matter and technique are far-ranging, there's a common thread of edginess that makes his Instagram feed feel like a curated collection of fine art. That's what makes him one of the best photographers on Instagram!

Ingrid Alice might not have as many followers as other photographers on this list, but her images definitely pack just as much punch.
Her portraits are stunning, and show a true eye for lighting, composition, framing, and posing.
There's nothing over-the-top about her work, yet you'll find yourself getting lost in the magic of her portraits.
Though Jamal Burger's Instagram feed has recently featured impeccable black and white portraits taken on the streets of Japan, he's much more than a street or portrait photographer.
In fact, the Toronto-born photographer has traveled the world, documenting life in cities big and small from India to the Ivory Coast to the United States and everywhere in between.
He also has a knack for sports photography, particularly basketball, which he'll tell you is one of his favorite things.
I’m thrilled to announce that “The Final Frontier” is the winning photograph of the 4th Edition of the CVCE Adventure Photography Competition! After 3 years of marvelling at the results, I decided to submit some of my work this year and could not be happier with the result. Huge thanks to my friend and hypertalented climber Jesse Milner who allowed me to create this image in Iceland a few months back. Congrats to all the runners-up on their excellent work and thanks to everyone at CVCE!
Paul Zizka is an award-winning landscape photographer whose exploits in the great outdoors are an enviable trail of breathtaking landscapes and adventures that any landscape photographer will appreciate.
But he's not just some guy that does cool things outdoors; instead, it's clear in each image in his Instagram feed that this dude knows how to handle a camera.
There's a commitment to finding different perspectives from which to shoot. Some images are from a worm's eye view, others from a human's eye view, and other's from above it all while hanging out the side of a helicopter.
Based in San Francisco, Jude Allen blesses your feed with portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectures, and even the occasional wildlife photo.
And while that might sound like a collection of images that have absolutely nothing in common, Jude's masterful editing techniques give each photo his ethereal touch.
The result? A wildly fun feed that will inspire you to learn more about processing your images for maximum impact.
Editor's Tip: Not sure where to go on your next photography adventure? See why Iceland is a photographer's dreamland.
What initially catches your eye about Takahiro Bessho's Instagram feed is the abundance of gorgeously composed landscape photos.
There's a calm and serenity about his images that begs you to spend just one more minute scrolling through, until you find you've been at it for 15 minutes!
In addition to photographing Japan's breathtaking landscapes, he also takes an occasional portrait, each of which shows the same commitment to finding just the right point of view and composition to create a magical shot.
And with that, you now have ten excellent answers to the question of who to follow on Instagram!
