I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve my photography game, and that often involves staying at the forefront of what's available to me in terms of gear.

And I know what you're thinking...gear isn't what makes the photographer.

That's certainly true, but every once in awhile photography gear comes along that totally changes how you approach photography.

A few years ago, I had one of those moments when I learned about the Holdfast MoneyMaker dual camera system shown below.

I've written before about how this is one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. And that's not just lip-service, either. It truly is an incredible piece of equipment that had a huge impact on how I work.

In short, the MoneyMaker provided me with a comfortable way to carry two cameras simultaneously.

That, in turn, improved my workflow by minimizing my need to get into my bag to grab my gear.

Instead, the MoneyMaker put two camera bodies right at my fingertips.

The only "problem" with the MoneyMaker is that it didn't address the needs of single camera shooters.

That's now changed with the MoneyMaker Solo.

This sling strap was specifically designed for single camera shooters.

Worn as a sling across your body, the MoneyMaker Solo features the same leathers and hardware of the original MoneyMaker so you get the same impeccable look.

What's more, the MoneyMaker Solo taps into the MoneyMaker's heritage of incredible comfort.

Where some sling straps dig into your shoulder, the Solo is quite the opposite - the contoured shoulder strap is big and soft, that way you don't feel fatigued even if you carry a big camera and lens with accessories attached to the strap.

Additionally, the Solo features an included stabilizer strap that keeps the shoulder pad in place, that way you don't have to worry about slippage. That means that even though it's a sling strap, this thing will stay put on your shoulder so your gear stays put and safe as well.

To make this rig even more stable, just attach the included Belt Anchor to any belt, or for a perfect fit, you can pick up a Holdfast Indispensable Belt.

Doing so keeps your camera in the same position with no flopping around or swinging forward no matter if you're standing up, kneeling down, bending over, or somewhere in between, as you can see in the video above.

Then, when you're ready to shoot, a quick tug on the anchor releases the camera so you can draw it to your eye for the shot. And when you're done shooting, you can easily reattach it to the anchor with one hand.

And like the original MoneyMaker, the MoneyMaker Solo gives you tons of options for carrying additional gear.

There's a D ring on the front of the strap where you can attach a Sightseer Cell Pouch. You can also add a lens pouch to the strap  or to the stabilizer strap so you have easy access to your lenses as well.

And as I've come to expect with my MoneyMaker dual camera strap, the Solo provides the same freedom of movement and hands-free action when I want to shoot with a single camera.

As I noted earlier, sometimes gear truly does change the way you work, and the Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo is one such example.

Not only do you get a high-performance strap that's incredibly comfortable, but you also get a rig that looks absolutely stunning and can handle anything from a wedding reception to a sunset on the beach to a portrait session in the park.
