Moon eclipse from outback Australia
I'm outside Longreach [where QANTAS airlines was born about 100 yrs ago] and about 1200km NW of the Queensland state capital, Brisbane
Here's my take on the moon eclipse of 27 July ...
ps: funnily enough the moonrise the next night was a beaut red as well, however it soon changed to its usual white

Agree completely re- full-moon vs half-moon and you certainly need heaps of lens to get a decent result. The multi-image approach of mine is only successful when there's something to actually look at and little if any heat haze to disturb the image sharpness - which for us on the night of the eclipse was around 25C at midnight
