needing help with assignment

13 years 7 months ago #1111 by gryphonslair
I started an online photography course and I am struggling with my first assignment. I am a total newbie. Can someone please help me? I have to decide which lens to use between a 20mm, 28mm shift, 35mm 50mm 85mm 100mm macro. The first scenario is a food magazine want a picture of onions and garlic in their natural state shot on a farm then some close ups followed by people’s hands crushing and shopping. I’ve decided to use a wide angle for the farm shot. However, I am not sure what to do for the other shots.

: ) maybe if you read the book that came with each lens...it'll give you an idea of which lens to use. I only have the 100mm macro which I would use on some of the close ups? try different lens for each picture and you'll learn which one works the best.

There is one big problem with that. The school doesn't supply the lenses so I have to decide which one to buy and then go from there. I didn't anticipate this minor problem. Obviously I cannot afford to go out and buy each lens at once. So, I know I will need a wide angle but what other lens should I get to do the other shoots?

I think the 100mm macro would work nicely. Good luck with your class. Do you have any other assignments coming up? Maybe you could use this lens for several of your assignments.
