Hello to everyone .I am a beginner in terms of using a camera .Till now I was using my phone camera till the moment I tried to make a poster (70x100 ) with one of my photos and I understand the low analysis when I saw how blurry was the result .So I did a little search and I end up to the Sony a5100.I need dont really care about videos and I want a camera that will let me take photo that will give a good photo analysis in bigger size like the one i described above .Is it a good choice or in 2021 there is a better option at the same budget (max 400€)?Thank u very much

G'day mate

Firstly - WELCOME to the PT forum ... you will find plenty of people here with heaps of knowledge and who are willing to share :)

with respect to your Sony .... it matters not whether it is a Sony or Canon or Nikon or Pentax .... because they are all "much of a muchness". It comes down to how does that camera fit into your hand - does the eyepiece work for you? - do you wear specs? - how do the various knobs & buttons work? - do they stick? or press easily? and finally, does the price sit okay with your wallet?

With all dSLR cameras, then comes lenses ... are there other lenses available? does their price sit okay with you? and so it goes

Hope this helps

For a still camera (seeing you aren't interested in video), this camera is excellent.  But if you are just after taking stills, why not just use your iPhone?

Because ,as I refer at my first post , the quality is low and I need higher resolution ( raw)

That was a great analogy Phil.  I like the fit in you hand part.  A bad fit is not good.  The one thing I would add though, is go for a full sensor if you are planning to make blown up shots.  They will be sharper than the smaller sensor cameras.  There's some good prices on older (not that old) equipment.  And like Phil said, there's the subject of lens requirements as well.

A camera to get out there to learn on, works for me.
