Skylum Luminar Neo vs Photoshop worth the subscription cost?

6 months 2 weeks ago #757814 by Cara Wilkins
Adobe Photoshop has been driving my computer bananas lately and I'm not getting the support from Adobe, it's been 4 months now.  I seem to recall seeing this channel talking about a new release a little while ago for this software, I looked at the Luminar page and like magic I started seeing ads for this software all over.

I really dislike subscriptions and prefer paying fixed rates for software, which seems harder and harder to find these days.  I would like hear how others are using this and are you using as your primary post processing software?

:thx2:

I use both for different things.  Luminar has come a long way, is it perfect?  No, but it's use pretty awesome and does things that others can't do.   I hope that helps, I would keep on top of Adobe.

Skylum software is among the best.  Like already pointed out by last person.  I use both, and each has a specific purpose in my workflow when it comes to processing my images.

Wasn't me :)

I'd wait to buy anything right now, Turkey day is right around the corner and what is after that?  Yep, stay home and avoid the crazy's!  Shopping for deals online is OK though.

+1 stick with both, speaking of which, both companies likely will have some specials coming up for Black Friday

AI is the future and both of these companies are crushing it.  Can’t go wrong with having both.  That said if you only want to have one, it’s tough but will say you can get away with just having Luminar.

I use ON1 Photo RAW (perpetual licence).  I used the earlier perpetual licence for Luminar but had trouble (as I do in ON1 Photo RAW) with the mouse/software freezing.  Then I tried - was it Luminar Leo, trial version, but I couldn't see/access many of the features.  I'm still looking for software that I will convert RAW files and be compatible with my computer/mouse.

For me and what I need the software to do?  Yes, worth the price of admission.
