Buy URL for photography business?

Where did you buy your URL for your photography business? I've done some searches on Godaddy and it's tough to find a good name that is available :owned: Speaking of Godaddy, how is that company?

I think what you're looking for is a domain name. The governing agency that monitors that is ICANN - their website is www.icann.org . If you go to the bottom of their main page you'll find resources, and a list of accredited registrars (like GoDaddy) if you want to check to make sure a website is legit. (And the only reason I know about this is from looking into it for our nonprofit group to set up a website.)

I've been a GoDaddy customer for about 10 years now for other websites I've set up. Never had a problem with customer service, downtime, or set-up time.

I just haven't set one up for my photography business yet because I'm still designing a page, and not even sure if I will go that route or use something like Zenfolio or SmugMug instead. I may buy my domain from GoDaddy and point it to a ZF or SM type site. Not sure yet which would be cost effective.

My husband and I use godaddy for about 10yrs or so. First we bought domains from them, when we were hosting our own sites. Now we are hosting thru them for the past 3yrs, never had a problem with them. Currently have 3 sites hosting with godaddy. My husband has his site, I have another site and my photography site. Currently my site is pointed to zenfolio, but soon my Zen will expire and I will be completely hosting off godaddy and back to designing my own site. :)
