Photography business cards: Design or Simple?

11 years 4 months ago #267495 by Master Photograffer
Do you have a design on your business cards or did you keep them simple? I need to order some cards and trying to decide if I should go with a design, or just keep them nice and clean.

Your opinion is appreciated.

Search for "business cards 25 designs" for lots of wonderful examples. I just ran across an article a few days ago but can't find the exact link. This search produces excellent links. I think you have to have a card, the question is how complex it should be.

It's possible to use stock designs and images and get good results; I did this with VistaPrint for an initial card, since I needed something fast and had not settled on a business name, etc (This design: www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/studio3.aspx?pf...d1#doc_id=2468918746 ). Plus, they were free :-) except for S&H, about $7.

A friend who is a graphic designer came up with some ideas for me (trade for pics), and now my cards look like this:

Front:

Back:

(hoping the phone/email are occluded enough...)

They're sturdy, glossy, and look great, and they can be used as appointment reminders. The only thing I'm going to do different next time is make the circle thingy a bold teal color to have more pop on the front.

I like mine clean and simple. I use an example of my work and a logo. On the back is my basic contact information. Here is an example of my current card.
