Pricing on your website VS. Not having any pricing on your website

I have had "starting at" pricing on my website but recently made my pricing / contract booklet into a e-book for out of town clients and I think having that on my pricing pages looks cool.
Example at the bottom of this page: www.sarahashleyphotos.com/engagements

So what do you all think? While only having starting pricing I feel like I have gotten more calls and emails.
Anyway discuss...

Nope. I want to be contacted so I can clarify the entire transaction, start to finish: costs, what the customer gets, how the shoot will proceed, how long they can expect before the get the images, what kind of shots they're looking for, the fact that I do retouching, you name it. I want the customer to understand that my time and my skills are a bargain. That's why I don't just throw out a price.

If they are interested in your services wouldn't they still contact you? I find that people email / call me saying hey I like you work I want more info on what you can do for me. How I get them through the studio door is simply by saying I have print samples that I would like to show and discuss with you and let you see a full wedding (unless thy are here for a photo shoot then I show them a shoot smiler to the one they are wanting). There are some price shoppers and they only want to know the price before they meet with you. That's fine and that's why I think having a starting at price is good so you don't waste time with people that may not be able to afford you (even if you talk yourself up and make yourself look really good if they can not afford it then they can not afford it).

I used to have prices on my site, but now don't.

Honestly if they're attracted to your photography they'll ask for the price.

I can see the "you might charge someone one price as opposed to someone else" argument though. To me there's too many variables to what I do (I don't do packages so much) and I need the flexibility (like Gary) to tailor make the shoot/price for the client.
