Plus size Model

Hi:

So a client asked me to put together a modeling portfolio for her. I must admit that I have never put together a modeling portfoli. The question is that she asked me the following question which I will need assistance with answering:

what are the parameters/requirements of the plus size modeling portfolio?
what kind of pictures is the industry looking for?

Is there anyone out there that might be able to help me out with these questions?

You response/help is really appreciated.

Thank you.

I am not a modeling expert, but as a plus size woman I can tell you that I have seen thousands upon thousands of plus size models via clothing advertisements. I recommend that you go to various plus size clothing websites and compare them to see what the market demands. A few good ones:

www.forever21.com
www.ashleystewart.com/
www.junonia.com/
www.justmysize.com
www.bigonbatik.com/

You would treat a plus size model just as you would a "normally" sized model.

I hope this is helpful.

Working with new models is quite interesting and full of fun as being fashion photographer. Portfolio is like face and the reputation. It should be sensible and regular updated. In short it shows how quality work your doing.

Ya know what. I'd tell the client that I don't do them. Then if you know someone that does, tell her you'll see about getting someone for her. Don't try to BS your way through. Take the job to that other person so long as you go along as an under study. You won't make a dime but it's better than blowing an assignment and you'll learn from it. The other side is that you do it yourself and maybe blow it and every one the client know's is gonna hear about you. You need good reference's!
