How much do you charge for head shots?

Sales are kind slow for me, would like to revisit my pricing. How much are you charging per person for head shots only?

If there is group, will you offer a discount? How many digital files are you giving them?

I appreciate your help.

You need to start by figuring out what your time is worth. How much time to travel, set up, take the shot(s), travel home, process them, make them available (upload/print) and interact with the customer? How much time does all that take, and what is your time worth?

I charge a sitting fee of $120 for 1 to 1.5 hours. Non-refundable. Can't be reduced. Required to secure an engagement. And that's really cheap.

Images? Depends upon how many you're going to sell. If you're talking a single image, $30 is cheap, but that would mean, at most, a 10 minute edit. And that's really inexpensive. Really inexpensive. I've seen that a local photographer who does marvelous work starts at $200 for the session and one (1!) image. Additional images are $80, last time I looked. Do the math for half a dozen images. I betting that's family/individual, and that corporate costs more.

You're being paid for your editing skills as well as technical. Make them worthwhile, and don't apologize for your prices.

So would that be $200 per person or for a group?

Good question. I don't distinguish between individual/couple/families, and a group shot would depend upon how many people and whether the shot could be reasonably accomplished in a certain amount of time. It's all the same to me.
