New to the forum, but not photography. I've been teaching it since 2005 at the high school level. I thought I would join a photo community and see what it had to offer and what I could offer.

I had a Canon Rebel for 12 years and when that died after getting wet one too many times, I bought a Canon 6D Mk II. It is too heavy (4 lbs with lens) so I'm looking into getting a hip/pelvic strap of some sort. I've had a few other cameras over the years: my first one as a kid was a Vivitar "brick" of some sort, I had an older Pentax film SLR, a few digital Nikon point and shoots, a smaller Canon all-manual compact and a few others. I even still have my first digital camera: a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P30 1.3MP camera I use for taking pictures for posting on the internet, since the photos are small to begin with.
I like macro and landscape photography, though I'm not very good at either. I enjoy Photoshopping effects on my images.
I look forward to being a part of this forum! Thanks!
