Preventing lens hood from falling off Nikon 24-70mm??

3 years 1 month ago #713913 by Adam S
Morning everyone.  I hope you can help me.  I have a 24-70mm lens that just can not keep a lens hood on it.  Because as of this weekend, I have lost a total of 4 lens hoods on this lens, I don't think it's a defect in the lens hoods, but the lens it self.

Any ideas of what I can do to keep these things on my lens with out glueing the darn things?

Doubt it, Adam.

I set on the shade on all lenses right out the box and never lost one.
Mind you, I use big enough shoulder bags so I can change lens in a
shortest time.

May I suggest that when, inserted properly, you turn the shade clock-
wise until you hear and feel the snap sound of the lock?

I don't believe it is a lens defect… that shade mounting ring is of cast
aluminium

BTW, I don't take off the shade when I put in in the bag but just drop it
in front end down — I don't don't worry about the lens cap either.

I've never had a hood that wouldn't stay on but, if you do, a little tape should do it.
