Interesting indeed. I saw a similar article where the guy threw the camera straight up and had a gathering of friends more or less in a circle armed with strobe lights. Fired at random he got some interesting shots using a wide angle lens.

I'm going to be the guy that calls this straight up retarded. Risk destroying your gear for shots you could do with 1 click of a photoshop brush.

Some photographers of course throw their camera in the air, as we saw in that video a while back of the guy who took the group shot. But there is a way to achieve the " throwing in the air" look without actually doing it. (no, it's not photoshop).
