Are there any other manufactures who are serious about this space?

The Panasonic GX-7 is very nice. I do think it's priced a little high though. The GH-4 is very good also. The Sony's are nice cameras and I like the way they feel but the lens lineup wasn't up to what I was looking for. Canikon is being left in the dust. I hope they both surprise us soon with a great mirrorless camera.

A cheaper way to 4K video is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000.

My husband was just looking at some 4k TV's this weekend.  He was saying the same thing, in the next few years will be big and we should see more movies in 4k.

They said the same thing about Beta systems a long time ago  & more recently, Blu Ray DVD's & players.... I always play the wait & see game as the cost of the technology determines it's success......

What I dislike about mirrorless cameras is that their batteries don't last long at all

Yeh but if they made them with longer lasting batteries people would complain about the weight.

OH!  Speaking of increasing battery performance, I really should be paying more attention to the grip options for mirrorless.  Slapping a grip on a mirrorless body makes even more sense than doing that to a DSLR.  Thanks for turning that lightbulb on Stealthy!
