Is your second body the same as your main camera?

Do you duplicate your main camera body or get something of lesser value for your second camera body?  Just trying to figure out my game plan.

It depends on your budget, but I do not see the reason spending full price for a camera you would use for max 10 days a year while the main camera is in for repairs or service.

I have two Canon 77D cameras and a 90D camera. When I bought the 77D's I was shooting weddings and had a 24-70 zoom on one and a 75-300 on the other, which gave me the ability to catch shots pretty much wherever they occurred. With both being the same it made them easier to use. Having two cameras gave me back-up capability too, but never needed to resort to this. I have a 2 camera harness so had one camera on each side of me, ready to catch action near or far. I've since bought a Tamron 18-400 lens, so could do the same with just one camera now, but I no longer do weddings. At 82 I'm getting too old and unstable for doing weddings. The 90D is being used mostly in my studio. It never saw a wedding, but it did do a wedding dress photo shoot in the studio once.

I only head out with one camera and usually with only the lens that is on the camera.  Seeing that you don't count our iPhones as a second camera, that's it for me.  That said, I do shoot a lot of photos with my iPhone though.
