When You Take the Art Photographer to a Baseball Game

Went to game the other night, and after practicing my sports shots I decided to experiment a bit. Decided I rather like the results.

Thoughts/commentary/reactions encouraged.

G'day mate

Gary - these are excellent .... love 'em

Far too many of us 'togs seem to be locked into the "it must be frozen / sharp / no-noise" etc image mould and yet there is so much we can achieve / create via a bit of imagination. [we had another one the other day with 'dancing']

I tried the same recently with a Aussie night rugby game - and my results, tho showing blur, were not as good as yours

10/10 all round

:agree:

Great DR and action blur… very cool Gary!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

REVISITED

I use a similar approach with tennis players for the local club
and I used a tripod so only the player showed movement in
the daylight. At night, more shots were taken with flash and
rear curtain… spectacular!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

This is a great piece of artwork! Definitely would stand out among thousands of photos that probably a newspaper editor has to go through. It's also easy to see why the third shot are people's favourite. It looks like an animation trope.
