New Year Celebrations

5 years 2 months ago #631593 by Khelm
Chinese New Year celebrations vary in different parts of the country.  where I was there are Dragon dancing and parading through the streets.  It's crazy as fireworks are going off in the street as the dancers are making their way down the street.  Many times Even the bystanders have to flee from the fireworks.  I was wearing a hoodie and had my hood over my head, camera in front of my face, and left had covering the left side of my face as I tried to get close for shots... The last photo shows a square where the streets converge and the dragon dancers meet. Not all the greatest photos but I'm posting so you can maybe have a bit of the experience from afar I was able to have up close.  Oh, the green dragon was broken somehow and the head was separated form the body - that's not normal.

I like the last shot the most but you have to enhance the colors.

Hey guys I've been busy and haven't been on in a while.  Several people commented bout enhancing the colors.  Could you please help clarify what you mean and/or how I might do that while editing.  Thanks guys for your comments

I like the first shot. Nice dynamics in here. The patterns as well are very distinct.

It was crazy. I had to wear a hoodie with the hood up and use my camera and hands to protect my face from all the exploding firecrackers!  I have a fixed prime lens so my only zoom is my feet. It was a great experience.
