How do I stay safe while traveling with expensive camera gear (my advices)

Many of my photographer friends ask me the same thing: How do I keep my expensive camera gear safe when traveling? As a frequent traveler with costly equipment, here are my tips that might benefit you:
  • Invest in a secure camera bag: Purchase a camera bag that is designed to protect your gear. Look for one with sturdy zippers, thick padding, and waterproof material to ensure your equipment remains secure.
  • Carry your gear with you: Don't check-in your valuable camera equipment when you fly. Instead, bring it with you as a carry-on to avoid any potential damage or loss of your gear.
  • Stay subtle: Avoid displaying your camera gear openly by using a plain-looking bag and avoiding flashy straps that may draw attention.
  • Utilize hotel safes: Stash your equipment in the hotel safe whenever you're not using it to avoid any theft that might occur.
  • Be mindful of your environment: Remain cautious and vigilant of your surroundings, particularly in crowded tourist areas. Don't abandon your camera anywhere and watch out for pickpockets.
  • Purchase travel insurance: Consider purchasing travel insurance that has coverage for your camera gear. This will help protect your equipment if it is lost, damaged, or stolen, providing you with financial protection.
By following these suggestions, you can rest assured that your expensive camera equipment stays safe while you travel, freeing you to capture stunning memories from your adventures.

I very rarely will leave my camera anywhere but my side when traveling.  Even when there is a safe in the room
