MeFoto and 3 Legged Thing Tripods made by same company?

I'm looking at picking up a new travel tripod and looking at these two companies and wondering if they are made by the same company?  If not, which would you go with?

Here's the 3 legged thing:

Well that Mefoto one does have some glowing reviews, as where the other is not even out yet. I always kind of favor the reviewed one if I want it now. It could be that it is a three legged that is merely rebranded, that happens a lot in the  accessories industry.

In defense of 3LT, they are a small company out of the UK and I don't believe they would be mefoto rebranded or vice versa. They are all made in stagsden UK and were started only a few years ago. Mefoto I've heard about a bit however the quality I find is not as high as 3LT. I own a 3LT and I very much adore it. It is a brilliant tripod. Yes they have similarities but dont all tripod manufacturers have very similar products? If you looked specifically at the gravity locking legs there must be plenty of companies producing tripods with those specs. Even the ballhead on top, yes they are similar however it isn't identical and again, from Manfrotto, to Sirui, to Vanguard they all produce very similar products.

I own this 3LT  www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/924519-RE...x1_1_eric_4_sec.html

It works flawlessly and it is very smooth.

My vote would go to  3 Legged Thing I have their "Eddie" Evo 2 travel tripod & also a CG monopod.... Top notch gear. If anything, the MePhoto, which came out after, would be the copy...... The 3LT gear is made in China for the company in the UK, so it could be that the same outfit makes both for different vendors.

I do know that atleast for a while 3LT made their own carbon fiber. Idk about aluminum though . They had trouble, still do keeping them stocked. I've only ever seen them stocked in a store in the UK, when I bought mine in North America I had to special order.
