Connie Photographing on the northern California Coast was difficult when I was there due to smoke from all the fires. I love fog, but not so much smoke. This day was a combination of both and I found black & white was the perfect rendering of the silence of this morning. by Connie on PhotographyTalk.com

This image by Connie shows how the ethereal nature of fog (and in this case, forest fire smoke as well) can be beautifully balanced by harsh, detail-rich features. The smoky fog gives this shot a sense of dreaminess, and when combined with the crispness of the rocks and plant life, it creates one heck of a shot!
