Select High-Quality Smartphone Photos

The first step to creating beautiful canvas prints is taking high-quality photos. To accomplish this, it’s crucial to have at least a basic understanding of key photography principles like exposure, composition, and lighting.
Composition and framing are particularly important, so if you are a beginner photographer, you should pay extra attention to practices like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and symmetry to capture visually appealing images. You can also experiment with different angles and perspectives to find unique and interesting shots.
On newer smartphones, you can adjust camera settings, which allows you to optimize your phone for high-resolution photos. If your phone has the option, I recommend shooting RAW smartphone photos. They store more light and color data and are better for editing.
Finally, don’t choose the first image from your smartphone photo library to print on canvas. You must carefully screen your photos (preferably on a computer or tablet) to identify the ones with the sharpest focus and best lighting to ensure clarity and detail in the final print.
Optimize Image Editing

Editing your smartphone photos is also an essential step in the photography process. With that in mind, you are fortunate because there has never been more amazing photo editing software. While I prefer to edit my images on a computer using programs such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, or Luminar Neo, many excellent mobile editing apps exist.
Snapseed, VSCO, and Adobe Lightroom Mobile are popular apps for editing smartphone photos. They give you complete control over your images and let you adjust exposure, contrast, saturation, white balance, color accuracy, and overall image quality. Furthermore, you can remove distracting elements or blemishes using their healing tools or cloning brushes.
From personal experience, images touched up before printing almost always look better when printed on canvas.

People must remember to consider two things when they are new to printing smartphone photos: resolution and size. Why are they important? It’s because just because your photos look great on your small smartphone screen doesn’t mean they will look good on canvas prints. You can check and adjust the resolution and size with your photo editor.
Here are some tips related to the resolution and size of your smartphone photos.
Exploring Creative Printing Options
Did you know that not all canvas prints are the same? The quality can vary immensely from print to print, so you should always place your orders from a trustworthy and reliable source. One place I love is Artbeat Studios.
It’s a popular online printing company known for its high-quality photography products, friendly staff, and innovative programs for photographers. When ordering its canvas prints, you can choose between two premium styles: Giclée and metallic canvas. It also offers different wrap types (1.50” vs. 0.75”) and framing options (unframed vs. float white vs. float black).
Do you want to explore different printing options for your smartphone photos besides canvas prints? Well, Artbeat Studio sells metal prints, acrylic prints, and paper prints.
