Ditch Your Camera Bag for This Photography Belt
If you’ve been looking for a photography belt, or even if you’ve just been curious about them, then it’s time for me to introduce you to the Tanker Belt.
As a camera bag alternative, the Tanker Belt works beautifully because it helps you to carry all of your equipment, while staying comfortable, without impeding your movement at all. Whenever I wear my photography belt, I feel much more natural. It’s almost as if I’m not being bogged down by all of my photography gear, so I can just enjoy the experience of shooting photos again.
Since this photography belt has so many benefits, I’m going to walk you through all of them. Then, I’ll show you some of the fun accessories I use alongside my photography belt to allow me to completely ditch my camera bag, even for shoots that last all day.
The Tanker Belt’s Benefits
As I mentioned, this leather photography belt is one of the most comfortable ways I’ve started shooting recently. But, this photography belt has far more benefits than just comfort. It also will last you a lifetime, so you’ll never need to worry about buying another photography belt again. It also lets you keep both of your hands free, which is so great for photographers, like me, who are trying to keep up with their kids, or photographers who like to do a little bit of adventuring.
It’s Comfortable
If you’ve ever wondered how to comfortably carry photography gear, the answer is right here: use a photography belt. Unlike camera bags, which can get really heavy and dig into your shoulders, a photography belt keeps all of the weight of your equipment right on your waist.
This photography belt is made out of two pieces of leather that are stitched together. The bottom layer acts as the belt, while the top layer acts as the slots where you can put your equipment.
If you’ve ever heard any complaints about using a photography belt before, then you’ve likely heard that some of them cause your pants to fall down. The Tanker Belt is specifically designed to prevent this problem.
It Lasts Forever
There are very few pieces of equipment that I purchased once and have never needed to buy again. The Tanker Belt is one of them.
This is for two reasons. The first is that leather lasts forever. It wears really beautifully and will end up looking better after a few years of hard use than it did when you first got it. The only other material that is used with the Tanker Belt is steel. The three d rings which come with the Tanker Belt are all made of it so you don’t have to worry about rust.
The second is that Holdfast provides all of their customers with a lifetime warranty on all of their leather products. So, if your Tanker Belt does end up breaking, they will replace it for free.

It Lets You Keep Both Hands Free
When I was first learning how to carry photography gear, I pretty easily became frustrated. I will argue that this is primarily because photography gear was just so much worse when I first got into photography, but it was also because I liked to take all of my gear with me while I was traveling or adventuring.
When I was traveling, it was so frustrating to feel like I always had to deal with my luggage and my camera gear. My camera was always getting in the way.
Then, when I was doing things like hiking, I felt as though I couldn’t go for as long as I wanted to because there was no way to carry my camera gear and my hiking gear. I had to choose between bringing a camera bag or bringing enough water and other supplies.
The Tanker Belt fixed both of these issues by allowing me to have all of my camera gear on me without requiring either of my hands. I could have a hiking pack on, while carrying all of my gear on my hips, or I could carry all of my luggage.
Tanker Belt Pairings
You may be wondering how I could fit all of my photography gear on one belt. That’s a great question and I’m going to show you what other pieces of Holdfast gear I own to make this possible.
Sightseer Lens Pouch
The first Tanker Belt accessory I own is a Sightseer Lens Pouch. I technically own a few Sightseer Lens Pouches, since they come in large, medium, and medium-wide.
The Sightseer Lens Pouch allows you to carry any lens of any size with you on your belt. You simply hook the pouch to one of the leather loops on the belt.
Like the Tanker Belt, each Sightseer Lens Pouch is made of leather, so it lasts forever, keeps your lens protected, and comes with a lifetime warranty.
One fun thing about the Sightseer Lens Pouch is that you can actually use it without the Tanker Belt, since it will fit on any regular belt that you own.
Sightseer Cell Pouch
Another Tanker Belt accessory that I love is the Sightseer Cell Pouch. It looks just like the Sightseer Lens Pouch, except a little smaller, because it is designed to hold your cell phone. The Sightseer Cell Pouch is also made of leather and canvas and it comes in two sizes: large or regular.
For someone like me who wants to be disconnected from the world while I’m shooting, I love the Sightseer Cell Pouch because it helps me stay just connected enough.
Junior’s Pouch
The final Tanker Belt accessory that I own is the Junior’s Pouch. As you may imagine, the Junior’s Pouch is far smaller than the rest of these pouches and is designed to carry small pieces of gear, like memory cards or extra batteries.
The Junior’s Pouch only measures 2.875” x 2.5”, but I love them because they help me to keep my pockets free of all of my gear.
