Sortable, an online purchase agent, reports that its survey of more than 275,000 consumers during a six-month period, indicates 33 percent, or one-third, are more likely to buy a Canon digital camera than any other brand. Survey results also show an equal distribution of interest in Canon point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras, with 36 percent of consumers likely to shop for either type of camera.
Other camera brands received the following percentages of votes: Nikon 26 percent, Sony 15 percent, Panasonic 7 percent, Fujifilm 5 percent, Olympus 4 percent, PENTAX 3 percent and all other manufacturers 7 percent.
The survey also reveals a growing interest in the relatively new mirrorless camera models, with 22 percent of consumers stating these are their preferred cameras.
