Exclusive Access to Major League Ballparks Sparked Michael Cuddyer, Colorado Rockies Right Fielder, To Become Digital Photographer
During a recent interview for MLB.com, Michael Cuddyer, the new Colorado Rockies right fielder, revealed that he has become a serious digital photography hobbyist. Although he enjoys capturing images of wherever he travels as a Major League baseball player, he has become particularly drawn to Major League ballparks as photographic subject matter.
After 11 years with the Minnesota Twins in the American League, Cuddyer has all the National League parks available to him as a member of the Rockies. Since he spends so much time at ballparks, he has begun to explore their nooks and crannies looking for unusual objects and details. His ballpark photography is further enhanced by the fact he has access to non-public areas, most importantly, the field. Even the professionals, corralled in their shooting pits next to the dugout, are unable to photograph his unique views and angles from field level.
Cuddyer’s photos can be viewed on his Google+ and Flickr pages.
