New Survey Shows More Consumers Want Digital Cameras with Wi-Fi Functionality
-
Based on an online survey of more than 59,000 digital camera shoppers, Market Insight Corporation reports that the percentage of consumers who want to buy digital cameras with a Wi-Fi feature is increasing. The company’s latest survey during the first quarter of 2012 indicates 7.9% of those in the market for a digital camera considered Wi-Fi high on their list of desired features. Each of the surveys during the 4 quarters of 2011 followed this trend, with 5.5%, 5.9%, 6.4% and 7.4% ratings, respectively.
The online survey also revealed that consumers who were strongly considering purchase a Fujifilm or Samsung digital camera were more likely to rate Wi-Fi functionality as very important. This statistical relationship may be driven by Fujifilm’s January 2012 release of the Z1000EXT digital compact camera and Samsung’s early 2012 release of the WB150F and DV300F DualView SMART Wi-Fi digital cameras.
