Are you interesting i how to take good photos?

Of course you are, who isn't?!

Learning to take better pictures often comes down to a few simple tricks that help you avoid mistakes and maximize your ability to get the best shot.

But not all tips for how to take better photos have to do with actually taking the photo.

Instead, there are many valuable tips for processing your images and printing your images that will really bring your photography to life.

That being the case, here's a few tips for taking, editing, and printing better photos.

Take Your Time

If you ask me, nothing sets you up for photography failure more than rushing your shot.

I know because I've made this mistake more than any other photography mistake in my life.

Rushing your shot means an increased likelihood of things like poor composition or using the wrong camera settings.

What's more, it increases your chances of not noticing things that degrade the quality of your photos, like a crooked horizon or accidentally cutting off the top of someone's head.

The way to minimize those mistakes and take better pictures is to simply slow things down.

Now, this doesn't mean that you have to spend five minutes painstakingly analyzing every single thing about every single photo you take.

Instead, spend an extra 10-15 seconds checking your composition, making sure the focus is spot on, and so forth, and the result will be much-improved photos.

Learn How to Process Your Photos

I might be aging myself here, but I remember years ago when there was a backlash against Photoshop by photography purists who believed digitally manipulating images was cheating.

Those days are pretty much gone now, and for good reason.

Though I'm not a proponent of completely changing your photos in Photoshop or Lightroom, they are fantastic tools for getting all the detail and beauty out of the raw image files.

But using programs like Photoshop and Lightroom isn't as simple as sitting down at your computer and editing away...

One of the drawbacks of these and other editing programs is that they can be a little overwhelming, even for experienced photographers.

All of those tools and adjustments and manipulations that can be made are great and all, but you have to learn how to properly use them to get the desired effect.

So, if you want to take your photos to the next level, you need to learn from the masters, like Peter McKinnon.

Peter's video (shown above) hits on photo editing mistakes, which are just as important to learn as the tips on what to do.

Get the Best Prints

Something I'll never understand is why people take the time to create a beautiful photo and then print it on sub-standard paper.

Even more perplexing is when people utilize cheap printing companies to print their photos.

If you want a showstopping image, you have to complete the process by having high-quality prints made.

For me, that means using CanvasHQ.

Great quality of printing and great quality and the frame compared to the other companies that use. Yes you do cost more but you’re definitely worth it. Good job! - Donald A., San Clemente, CA

I've been a CanvasHQ customer for years, and to say that these folks know what they're doing and know how to treat their customers is an understatement.

What first impressed me about these guys is that they're so friendly and open to helping you figure out exactly what you need. They really do make you feel like you're the most important person in the world.

Additionally, I admire the fact that they are dedicated to helping people themselves - when you call or send an email, a real, live human talks to you, not some prerecorded message.

Something else I want to point out about CanvasHQ is that they only use the highest-quality materials.

That's true of everything from their canvas to their paints to the wood they use to construct the frames for their prints.

I can tell you firsthand that their canvas prints are top-of-the-line because I've bought dozens of prints from them over the years.

Great customer service. Quick, easy and they are very polite and professional. Excellent quality canvas prints! - Chris S., Louisville, KY

Think of the prints you get as the diamond necklace that completes the outfit.

Do you have to get prints? Nope. But when you do, don't you want the best?

Taking your time to take a good photo and investing yourself in learning how to edit it really necessitates that you also put in the time and effort to get a great print.

And with CanvasHQ, that means you get an amazing print without a lot of fuss. Just upload your photo, select the options you want, and you're basically done until the print arrives at your doorstep.

If you ask me, this three-step process is a great way to get better photos. Ultimately, better photos is all any of us want!
