The Fujifilm X-T30 is a mirrorless camera made for versatile purposes. Whether you want to make nice images or lovely videos, the camera has all the features necessary for both purposes.

What’s more, it comes with a very compact design so you can carry it everywhere you go. This makes this model suitable for travelers or street photographers.

The X-T30 was released shortly after the X-T3 and they share a lot of things in common. First of all, they have the same sensor and processor, but there are some differences because the X-T3 performs better and costs more.

If you want to learn more about the similarities and differences between the X-T3 and X-T30 you should check out the comparison review that we wrote earlier, but in this article, we will focus solely on what the X-T30 has to offer.

Fujifilm X-T30 – Sensor and Processor

The X-T30 was built around a 26.1 MP APS-C X-Trans IV sensor (23.5 x 15.6mm) and an X-Processor 4. The same sensor and processor can be found in the X-T3 which was aimed at professional photographers.

This means that the camera has outstanding grounds for a good photography experience. It has good low-light performance, high image quality, and since it has no optical low-pass filter, the photos will have improved sharpness.

The sensor allows a native ISO range of 160-12,800, but it can also be expanded to ISO 80-51,200.

Fujifilm X-T30 – Design

The X-T30 is a successor to the X-T20 and they share the same design.

The camera is 4.7 x 3.3 x 1.8 inches and a weighs 13.5 oz. (body only). This size and weight are one of the biggest advantages of this camera in comparison to other similar models. Still, since it is so small, the controls are placed on such a small space which can make handling a bit difficult.

The camera has a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with a 0.62x magnification and a 1.04m-dot LCD touchscreen.

There is also a pop-up flash, AF joystick, a single UHS-I card slot, microphone jack, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB port.

Fujifilm X-T30 – Features

The new X-Processor 4 makes the camera very fast which has an effect on the camera’s shutter speed and autofocus system. The company claims it is three times faster than X-Processor 3.

The X-T30 allows continuous speed shooting at 30 frames per second with the electronic shutter. At this speed, there will be no viewfinder blackout, but there will be a 1.25x crop.

If you want to use the full frame, you can set the camera’s burst shooting at 20fps. In case you prefer to use the mechanical shutter, the camera allows shooting speed at 8fps which is still pretty fast.

When it comes to autofocus, the camera also has outstanding capabilities. There are 2.16 million phase detection pixels that cover 100% of the sensor. The camera will make accurate focus even in very dark environments as it can work in light levels as low as -3EV.

Finally, the X-T30 is also great for video. There is an option for internal UHD 4K30 video recording and Full HD recording at 120 frames per second.
