1. The 2011 show is Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, October 29 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

2. Number One Source of New Products.

Hundreds of exhibitors will be presenting thousands of the newest technologies and photography and imaging products. Surveys find that 89% of attendees make purchase decisions throughout the year based on what they see at PhotoPlus, and 76% agree that PhotoPlus is an important part of their product sourcing and buying process.

3. Onsite Product Demos.

Many of the more than 200 exhibitors will demonstrate their new products; for example, Massiera Industries will unveil its first product, E.P.S.2 (Expandable Photo Studio) and offer a special discount if purchased during the Expo. Tiffen will show the features and benefits of its Tiffen Dfx Creative Digital Effects V3.0 Software, Magnum XG DSLR tripod, and the new Domke Rolling Propack.

4. Educational Seminars That Also Inspire.

PhotoPlus Expo will include more than 115 seminars and hands-on workshops, where attendees will learn from some of the greatest photographers and imaging experts in the world. It’s an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for every photographer to expand his or her knowledge and be inspired to excel and create.

5. Special Evening Events.

Attendees will enjoy the social camaraderie of evening activities, as they also network with other photographers. A highlight will be the 2011 PhotoPlus Bash + Benefit for Japan. It’s an evening of music, food and entertainment and a fundraiser for the people of Japan.

Many exhibitors will have free samples of selected products, a pile of information and prize drawings. Twenty attendees will win the Golden Ticket Raffle. 7. WPPI NYC Wedding and Portrait Photography Expo.

PhotoPlus Expo and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) are co-hosting WPPI NYC, a separate event focused solely on wedding and portrait photography. Both Expos will be in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and their dates are concurrent, with the WPPI NYC seminars on Wednesday, October 26, and the Expo October 27 and 28. 

8. PhotoPlus Portfolio Review.

Attendees can register for a portfolio review from The Palm Springs Photo Festival and its excellent roster of well-respected reviewers. More than 100 review sessions are available throughout the three days of the Expo. Attendees must register in advance.

9. PDN HDSLR Video Workshops.

Photo District News, the official host of the PhotoPlus Expo, invites attendees to stay in New York for the PDN HDSLR Video Workshops, October 30 and 31. This event is for the absolute beginning and budding pro. All attendees will receive technical training in HD video formatting, motion-picture composition, sound recording skills, storytelling tools and many other video production topics.

10. Autumn in New York

There may be no better city to visit during the mild, sunny days of autumn. It’s a comfortable, enjoyable time to see the sites and explore the magical places of New York City with your camera.
