1. EOS-1D X:This is the newest Canon model and, according to some reports, will be released to the market in March 2012 at approximately $6,800. At that price, it is no wonder Canon is touting it as the new flagship of the EOS line. An advance peek at the features includes a full-frame 18.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, all-new Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors, 61-point high-density reticular AF and 100,000-pixel RGB metering sensor and, of course, HD video capture.

2. EOS-1Ds Mark III: For many professional photographers, this Canon model has been the standard to produce the highest quality work. Its 21.1-megapixel, full-frame Canon CMOS sensor; large 3.0-inch LCD monitor with Live View Function; a fast, precise 45-point AF system; and a burst rate to 12 consecutive RAW images are just a few of the many pro-level features that equate to its $6,999 price tag.

3. EOS-1D Mark IV: This DSLR camera is an update of the Mark III and features very detailed, 16MP images under a wide range of shooting scenarios, a high-resolution 1.3x crop, 10 frames per second shooting and outstanding AF performance and HD video. The Mark IV delivers not only what it promises, but also what serious and professional photographers demand at a $4,999 price tag, body only.

4. EOS-1D Mark III: Even with the upgrade to the Mark IV and the soon-to-be-released EOS-1D X, the 1D Mark III is still an excellent value at approximately $3,999 for serious photographers and professionals. They can create incredible digital photography with the Mark III’s 10.1-megapixel APS-H CMOS sensor, 3.0-inch LCD monitor with Canon's Live View technology, 45-point AF system and continuous shooting mode of as many 10 fps. Hard-working photographers also appreciate the Mark III’s lighter body and improved weather sealing.

EOS 5D Mark II: When Canon introduced this camera, photographers noticed quickly that Canon was pushing the standard forward, with a 21-megapixel, full-frame CMOS sensor; 3.0" VGA LCD; Live View; and a broader ISO sensitivity range. It was also one of the first DSLRs that could shoot high-definition 1080p video. For approximately $2,500 (body only), this camera has the features, performance and high quality standards that just about any digital photographer would want.

6. EOS 7D Digital: This Canon model may appear to be similar to the EOS 50D, but, upon close inspection, it is much more than a simple upgrade. The new viewfinder offers 1.0X magnification and 100% coverage. Other features include a powerful 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, a 921,000-dot LCD screen, Dual Digic 4 processors and 1080p HD video. You’ll have to look hard to find any flaws or problems in the Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera, which makes its $1,699 price very attractive.

7. EOS 60D: Canon places the EOS 60D between the Rebel T2i (EOS 550D) and the 7D. The 60D has features of both, such as an 18-megapixel sensor, articulated 3:2 high-resolution LCD screen and HD video recording. New features include in-camera raw conversion, ambience settings, creative filters and more JPEG options. At $999, the Canon EOS 60D is a good choice for many photography enthusiasts, either ready to upgrade from their Rebel T2i or as their first DSLR.

8. EOS 50D Digital: This Canon model has become a favorite of digital photographers moving from their first DSLR to one with better features, but without the professional price tag. It features an APS-C-sized, 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor; DIGIC 4 image processor; ISO sensitivity to 12,800; a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD (920,000 dots) monitor; Live View function with Face Detection Live mode…and even more for just $1,099.00.

9. EOS Rebel T3i EF-S 18–55mm IS II Kit: Canon’s Rebel T3i body and lens combination is perfect for hobbyist photographers who think they are ready to graduate from a point-to-shoot to a DSLR. Its 18-megapixel, APS-C-sized CMOS sensor is larger than its competition, Nikon D5100 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2. New DSLR owners will also like Canon’s large three-inch Vari-Angle Clear View LCD screen and the camera’s full-HD video, and the great package price of approximately $899.

10. EOS Rebel T2i EF-S 18–55mm II Kit: Here’s a camera and lens combo that you can carry all day because of its lightweight design. Wherever you go you’ll have a great array of features and capabilities to record everything happening in your world. The Canon EOS Rebel T2i includes an 18-megapixel CMOS image sensor, full HD movies, a burst mode that delivers 3.7 frames per second and a wide-area LCD screen to make digital photography and video so much easier. The price for the kit is very easy on the wallet at approximately $799.

11. EOS Rebel T1i EF-S 18–55mm IS Kit: Photographers new to DSLR cameras will discover the EOS Rebel T1i kit to have all the features they need to enjoy the new world of digital photography. These include a 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor, a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD, compatibility with the EOS system of lenses and Speedlites and full HD video capture at resolutions to 1920 x 1080. This is the camera/lens kit you want in your hands to learn how to become a better photographer; and it’s very affordable at $749.

12. EOS Rebel Xsi EF-S 18–55mm IS Kit: For photographers that want to advance to DSLR capabilities, but still prefer the ease-of-use of a point-and-shoot camera, this Canon kit is a great buy at approximately $649. Fun, family photography as well as serious photography can be shot with this camera, since it has a 12.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, a DIGIC III image processor and Live View functionality. Plus the Canon EF-S 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS lens comes with optical image stabilization.

13. EOS Rebel T3 EF-S 18–55mm II Kit: This Canon model and lens kit is also for the first-time DSLR buyer who wants to pay less than the price of the Rebel T3i. This kit is also a great value, with its 12.6-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor; 2.7-inch, 230,000-pixel resolution LCD screen; 18–55mm IS II zoom lens and 1280x720p HD video. If you’ve decided that you want to advance to the next level of photography, then the Rebel T3 kit is a good first step at approximately $599.

14. EOS Rebel XS EF-S 18–55IS Kit: This Canon package is another entry-level DSLR that is packed with Canon reliability and excellent shooting capabilities. Its compact design houses a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, Canon's DIGIC III processor, Live View Function and many other features; plus, it’s priced for the DSLR beginner at approximately $549.
