  1. Elinchrom cleverly outfitted the D-Lite 2/4 Starter to Go Kit with two monolights of different power outputs. You have a greater variety of lighting configurations and effects for portraits, fashion, products, food and cars with a 200w and 400w moonlight. The power of each light can be adjusted to any of 5 f-stops. Flash duration on the 400w monolight is 1/800th and it recycles in 1.3 seconds. For the 200w moonlight, the flash duration is 1/1,200 and recycling is 0.7 seconds.

For example, when photographing a classic or unique automobile’s engine compartment or interior, a dual-light set-up is optimum. Often, however, this will result in one light being closer to the camera than the other. With the two different moonlights, and their f-stop adjustability, in the Elinchrom D-Lite 2/4 Starter to Go Kit, you’ll easily find a combination for an even and complementary illumination.

  1. Both heads are of the same dimensions: 8.26 x 6.3 x 6.3” (21 x 16 x 16cm), while the 400w monolight weighs 2.86 lbs. (1.3kg) and the 200w fixture 2.42 lbs. (1.1kg).

  1. This Elinchrom lighting package also includes two 33" umbrellas (one silver, one translucent) and two light stands for the flash heads. The different reflective qualities of the two umbrellas will allow you to be more creative with portraits and models in a fashion setting. The umbrellas will also give you versatility outdoors, since you can use them to reflect sunlight where you want it, without the need of the lights.

  1. Each head in the Elinchrom D-Lite 2/4 Starter to Go Kit has a built-in Skyport ECO receiver. Mount the Skyport ECO transmitter to the hot shoe of your camera, and you’ll have wireless and remote triggering control of the heads via any of 4 channels. You can also select flash syncs as fast as 1/250th, or use the standard setting of 1/60th.

  1. Each head has an easy-grip handle and a control to tilt the head. An LED display occupies approximately half of the rear panel with a power indicator; power control +/- 1/10 f-stop; photocell on/off switch; test, open flash; modeling lamp controls in full, low or off modes; and the photocell for remote triggering. The back of each head also includes the mains inlet socket, access to the fuse for modeling light, an illuminated switch indicating the mains on or off and a 3.5cm sync socket jack.

  1. The Elinchrom D-Lite 2/4 Starter to Go Kit is built with a number of safety features. Thermostatically controlled cooling fans in each monolight are automatically engaged when the heat of the lamps reach a dangerous temperature. In addition, the sync voltage is a low 5V, which protects your digital camera.
