The Hasselblad X1D-50c is a mirrorless camera which offers a 50-megapixel medium format CMOS sensor although it is packed into a compact and portable body.

Medium format digital cameras capture images on sensors larger than that of a 35mm film frame. The advantages of these type of cameras are a higher resolution, lower noise level, and overall better image quality in comparison to those that use Full Frame, APS-C, and Micro 4/3 sensors.

Because of these large sensors, medium format cameras are often heavy, big and expensive, so they are mostly used for studio photography.

Yet, this is not the case with the Hasselblad X1D-50c. The camera has the same size and weight as many DSLR models, while it is also more affordable than most of other medium format size cameras.

This is why the Hasselblad X1D-50c revolutionizes the market!

Hasselblad X1D-50c Specs

The Hasselblad X1D-50c was built around a 44 x 33mm medium format CMOS sensor. As we already implied, large sensors obtain more light which produces better image quality because of larger pixels and better color accuracy.

What is exceptional about this camera is that it manages to fit in medium format sensor into a compact body. The camera weighs only 1.6 pounds, which is definitely not too heavy for this type of camera.

The camera also has the size of a regular DSLR. It is 5.9 inches wide, 3.9 inches tall and 2.8 inches in depth.

The key features of the X1D-50c are native ISO sensitivity from 100 to 25,600, 2.3 FPS speed, 35 autofocus points, Full HD 1080p H.264 Video at 25 fps, and shutter speed range from 1/2000th to 60 minutes. See these and other features in the video above by Kai W.

In addition, the X1D-50c incorporates 2.36MP XGA Electronic Viewfinder, 920k-dot (VGA) 3.0" touchscreen, a place for two SD cards, Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB 3.0.

Hasselblad X1D-50c Price

With the price of $7,650.00 for body only, it can’t be said the Hasselblad X1D-50c is a cheap camera.

Still, it is still one of the most affordable medium format cameras.

For example, the Hasselblad H6D-50c uses the same medium format 50MP sensor but it is almost two times more expensive.

You should also take in consideration the H System lenses are a bit pricey. If you want to buy the Hasselblad X1D-50c with 30mm lens kit you will need to spend $10,490.00.

However, if you keep your eyes peeled for pre-owned rigs, you can save a good chunk of money.
