4 Photography Accessories That Will Make Your Life Easier
It can be really difficult to figure out which photography accessories are actually necessary and which photography accessories are going to be a waste of money, because let’s be honest, I’ve definitely purchased some camera accessories before that didn’t make it out of my closet, much less on a shoot with me.
While figuring out which photography accessories will work for you may take some time, you can definitely help yourself out by doing a little bit of research and only purchasing photography accessories that are of a genuinely good quality, like the four leather camera accessories I’ve listed below.
All of the photography accessories on this list will literally last you a lifetime, so what are you waiting for?
SD Memory Card Wallet
One of the most unique photography accessories for organization that I own is an SD Memory Card Wallet from Holdfast.
This wallet is just large enough to carry 6 SD cards at a time, without being unnecessarily bulky. In fact, this wallet is super slim so it doesn’t get in your way. All you have to do to access your cards is unsnap the strap to slide out the wallet. When you have the card you need, you can pull a little strap to put the wallet back into its protective leather sleeve.
You can always put the wallet in your pocket or bag, but since it does come with a strap, you can also attach it to your belt or the outside of your bag.
The SD Memory Card Wallet comes in four different colors: brown, black, green or navy and will cost you $95. Like all of the leather photography accessories that Holdfast sells, this SD Memory Card Wallet comes with a lifetime guarantee. You’ll never need to buy another one ever again.
Leather Pen Caddy
Depending upon the type of photography you’re shooting regularly, you’re likely finding yourself reaching for a pen all of the time. I like to take tons of notes while I’m shooting, and since I don’t trust myself not to break my phone every half second, I take my notes the old fashioned way.
But, it’s super frustrating because I forget my pens at home all of the time, so I’m left searching through my glove compartment in the middle of a shoot looking for one.
With Holdfast’s Leather Pen Caddy, I never forget my pens at home.
This Leather Pen Caddy is designed to fit on top of your notebook (any notebook that is between 8”-12” tall). It features a large velcro strap to help it stay in place.
It features a slot for up to 4 pens or pencils, as well as a larger pocket which can fit things like business cards or credit cards, for easy access. There’s also one smaller slot on the bottom of the caddy which will fit a pocket knife or extra lead if you’re needing to carry pencils with you.
The Leather Pen Caddy comes in four different colors: chestnut, tan, black or tan black. It costs $60, making it one of the cheaper photography accessories on this list.

Bolo Strap
Depending upon how you usually like to carry your camera, you’re likely running into the same problem all photographers do at one point or another: you’ve found yourself out without all of your gear.
It’s really frustrating when you want to capture every special moment with your family or friends and can’t because your big DSLR is at home.
It’s why Holdfast created the Bolo Strap. The Bolo Strap is designed to carry smaller cameras during spur-of-the-moment shooting. There are two different sizes, one that only slips around your wrist and one that goes around your neck.
The Bolo Strap is also versatile. You can strap your wallet or your keys to it too.
The Bolo Strap is made of leather and comes in a variety of colors, including tan, chestnut, and burgundy and it costs $45.
Holdfast Shoulder Pad
One of the most frustrating parts of being a photographer is the fact that you have to stand on your feet for hours on end. You’re usually lugging around really heavy gear while you’re doing so. I know that, after a long day, I am usually totally exhausted and in pain. I’ve started getting myself regular massages as I get older to help me deal with it, but this really isn’t a long term solution.
This discomfort that so many photographers feel is the exact reason why Holdfast created the Holdfast Shoulder Pad.
The Holdfast Shoulder Pad works best with the Holdfast MoneyMaker strap. It essentially adds another layer of protection for your shoulders if you’re usually carrying really heavy cameras and lenses. Each shoulder pad comes with two little straps which allows you to loop your shoulder strap right through it. The reason why the Holdfast Shoulder Pad works best with the MoneyMaker strap is that the MoneyMaker strap features two D-rings, which helps to lock your shoulder pad in place.
Unlike other shoulder pad options, the Holdfast Shoulder Pad isn’t big and bulky or ugly. It is really slim, but it just allows you to disperse the weight of your camera over a larger part of your shoulder.
The Holdfast Shoulder Pad, like everything else on this list, comes in a variety of colors, including tan, chestnut, and black and costs $47.50.
